Losar, in Tibetan is also known as the Tibetan New Year. It is a festival in Tibetan Buddhism.The holiday is celebrated on various dates depending on location (Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal, India) tradition. The holiday is a new year's festival, celebrated on the first day of the lunisolar Tibetan calendar.

Palden Lhamo means "Glorious Goddess" and can feature a wide range of wrathful female protectors and dakinis. Usually, Palden Lhamo refers to the Gelugpa version of her as a wrathful emanation of Chamunda, a wrathful emanation of the goddess Kali.
