Thousand Offerings to Lama Tsongkhapa
This is a ritual of offering a thousand clouds of offerings to the great Lama Tsongkhapa, the crown-jewel of all scholarly masters of the land of snow and the Dharma king of the three realms, on the 25th of the 10th Tibetan month.
The benefits of this ritual are:
In the Five Stages of Nagarjuna, it says:
Completely abandoning all offerings,
Perform the offerings to the guru perfectly.
By pleasing the guru,
(You will) attain the supreme omniscient wisdom.
Thus, just as it is said that making offerings to the guru is more beneficial than
making offerings to all other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, it helps you to quickly
perfect the accumulation of great merits, especially to cleanse all your
negative actions and obscurations accumulated by physically hurting one’s
guru, disobeying his words, agitating his mind, or disrespecting, insulting and
disgracing him, and to receive all the blessings of the body, speech and mind
of the guru. It also increases your lifespan, merits, glory, wealth, and qualities
of the scriptural knowledge and inner realizations, protects you from external
and internal harms, delights all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten
directions, prevents you from plunging into the hell realms, and fulfills all
your wishes. In short, temporarily it pacifies the obstacles to your life,
prolongs your lifespan, prevents diseases, protects you from falling into the
three lower realms, and purifies the sins and obscurations of your bad actions
accumulated over many eons. Ultimately, it helps you to attain the state of
perfect enlightenment.
