Choejoy Puja ཆོས་སྤྱོད་།

The Choejoy Puja (often referred to as Chos-spyod) is a foundational prayer service in Tibetan Buddhism, specifically designed to cultivate merit, purify obstacles, and express deep devotion. The term "Choejoy" translates to "Dharma Practice" or "Religious Conduct," signifying that this ritual encompasses the essential daily activities of a practitioner.

During a Choejoy Puja, monks and practitioners engage in:

• Recitation of Sacred Texts: Chanting foundational sutras and prayers composed by great lineage masters.

• The Seven-Limb Prayer: A core practice involving prostration, offering, confession, rejoicing in the merit of others, requesting the turning of the Wheel of Dharma, beseeching the teachers not to pass away, and dedication of merit.

• Symbolic Offerings: The presentation of sensory offerings (water, flowers, incense, light, and food) to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

• Meditation and Visualization: Focusing the mind on the enlightened qualities of the deities to transform one's own consciousness.
