Lhabab Duchen commemorates Buddha Shakyamuni's descent from the Tushita heaven, where he had taught his mother the Dharma, back to the human realm. It is one of the four great holy days of the Buddhist calendar, on which the effects of both virtuous and non-virtuous actions are said to be vastly multiplied.
