Daily Prayer Schedule

The monks of Sed Gyued Monastery perform sacred prayers and pujas every day on behalf of devotees around the world. Below is our regular schedule of recitations.

Daily Recitations (IST)

Time Practice Purpose
5:00 AM – 6:30 AM Morning Prayers & Offerings Auspiciousness for the day; prayers for all sentient beings
9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Morning Puja Session Requested pujas, healing prayers, and longevity practices
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Afternoon Recitation Session Memorial prayers, mantra recitations, and deity practices
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM Evening Puja & Dedication Dedication of merit; prayers for the deceased and the living

Monthly & Annual Practices

In addition to daily recitations, the monastery observes special prayer days aligned with the Tibetan lunar calendar, including:

  • New Moon & Full Moon days — Extended puja sessions and offerings
  • Losar (Tibetan New Year) — Multi-day prayers for world peace and auspiciousness
  • Saga Dawa — Month of merit; intensified practice throughout
  • Annual Gyüpa Chenmo (Great Tantric Examination) — Major ceremonial prayers unique to the Sed Gyued tradition
  • Lama Tsongkhapa Day (Ganden Ngamchö) — Prayers honouring Je Tsongkhapa, the lineage founder
